Your Social Media is Your Story
As social media continue to become major forms of communication, be aware that every single thing you post is a reflection of yourself. This is true whether you are using social media for personal or professional goals. We all know that our lives are made up of SO much more than what we post. Still, it's natural for people to make judgements and associations based only on what they see. If you only post selfies, then people may think you are narcissistic. If you often post complaints, then people may think you are a complainer. If you post negative things, no matter how petty, people may think you are a negative person. Some of these judgements may have an effect on your relationships in real life. Social media will continue to rapidly evolve and it's likely that your online presence will have more weight. More weight for what? Too soon to tell but just think before you post.☝We, as humans, have never had this much exposure to each other's lives before and we are still witnessing the implications of this relatively new and constant interaction. The next time you post, ask yourself, what is your overall narrative and does your post contribute to your story?
